You did it ! The end of the year is almost here, and for some of us that means a summer vacation. Struggling with what to do in the last few days? No more budget, or simply no more time or energy to come up with 5 more days of activities? Try these out!
Musical Monday
Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together! There’s no better way to celebrate the end of the school year with a dance party, freeze dance, music “concert” or a little mini performance with classroom or handmade instruments. Click here for a free finger puppet and song print out, with a bean theme! Have some spare beans at home or on hand, like a lima bean? Plant each bean with the children in small pots or cups with soils to take home for the summer to go along with the theme!

Work Together Wednesday
Educators know that team work makes the dream work! Holding ourselves and others accountable is an important part of the equation for a successful learning environment. We all make mistakes, but do we learn from them? At beetbox, we recognize education is a community like no other. Most go into education to make a difference in the life of a child, despite the difficult, long days with sometimes little to no recognition. See how mistakes can be a good thing, and read how to turn them into learning opportunities for your entire school. Click here. Need a fun group project to keep children busy? Try using flashlights! Artsy Thursday
It’s sometimes expected by educators and parents alike that children will bring home cute craft projects. While crafts are fun and enjoyable, the focus of a craft is usually a specific end result, which unfortunately leaves children with little flexibility to be as creative as they please. Try something new - head here to learn all about process art and its creative learning benefits!
Family Friday
Beetbox cares deeply about the relationship between parents, children, and educators. While healthful programming can be impactful, real change comes when the whole family is involved! Don’t forget to commemorate and include families at the end of the year. We know it can be tough for busy parents to stay on track. Our blog features healthy and easy recipes your child will love. Head here to find our delicious Baked Rainbow Potato Chips! Make the recipe in school with your classroom, and send home the beautiful rainbow chips as an end of year “treat” for parents and families.
