Apple Thick Shake

This decadent looking “desert” is anything but! Between the hefty dose of dietary fiber, antioxidants, and phytonutrients, this healthy apple shake is not only delicious, but nutritious. Have fun blending it up with the kids for an after dinner treat or a quick breakfast, and enjoy all of its health benefits.

Instructions:

Prep Time: 10 minutes

1 large apple or 2 medium apples

  • 1.5 to 2 cups chilled milk (soy, almond, or oat milk for a dairy free option)

  • 2 pinches of cinnamon

  • drop or two of pure vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 2 ice cubes or milk ice cubes (optional)

Wash, peel and core apples. Kids love to help with washing! Chop apples into chunks and add to the blender.

  1. Add half of the milk, honey, and vanilla. Blend until smooth.

  2. Add the rest of the milk and ice cubes. Blend until frothy.

  3. Pour apple thick shake into tall serving glasses and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Serve and enjoy immediately.
